CHANGSHA, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Two passenger trains collided碰撞,冲突 incentral China early Monday, leaving at least three people dead and 60injured.
The accident took place at 2:34 am at Chenzhou railway station inHunan Province, said an official from Guangzhou Railway Group, whichoperates station and the trains involved in涉及(包含在...中) the crash [kræʃ]碰撞.
Train K9017 from the provincial capital Changsha to Shenzhen,Guangdong Province, and train K9063 from Tongren, Guizhou Province, toShenzhen collided, driving several carriages ['kæridƷ]车厢 off the tracks.
The K9017 locomotive[,lǝukǝ'mǝutiv]火车头 and the first five carriagesas well as the K9036 locomotive and the first two carriages werederailed火车出轨, the official said.
The fourth carriage of the K9017 was the most seriously damaged, rescuers said.
Yuan Shuxian, a student in her early 20s from Guangdong Province, had four stitches['stitʃǝ] 缝线 in her leg.

Recalling her horrible['hɔrǝbl] 可怕的 experience in the train, Yuansaid that as she didn't have a ticket for a seat, she was standing atthe joint 接口处 between the fourth and the fifth carriages when theaccident happened.

"I didn't know how deep it could be, but I jumped with my classmates," she said.
They waited outside for about ten minutes. Then the ambulance['æmbjulǝns]救护车 arrived, taking them to a local['lǝukǝl] 当地的hospital.
One of the trains crashed into two nearby houses, causing them to collapse坍塌.

Investigation showed the accident was caused by speeding.

Chinese premier's shoe protestor pleads not guilty

Chinese Ship sinks (沉）in Russia, 7 missing（失踪）

Seven Chinese sailors（海员） are missing after a Chinese cargo （货物）ship sank in Russian waters near Japan on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry（外交部） said yesterday.

BEIJING -- Domestic violence poses a severe threat to women's rights in China with the authorities receiving about 50,000 complaints annually, according to the figures released by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) on Saturday.
The figure meant one in every ten of the complaints or calls of complaint from the people to the ACWF and the local women federations is about domestic violence.
"The conjugal violence has grown into a potential threat to the social stability," said Jiang Yue'e, head of the ACWF's rights and interests department.
"It is also a major cause that leads to divorces and potential crimes."
According to Jiang, domestic violence occurred in both cities and the rural areas. It is prevalent in the rural areas where about 800 million people live. Domestic violence also took place among the population receiving higher education.
"The victims are mainly women and children, inflicting both physical and psychological pain on them," said her.
